The functional medicine model of care is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s lifestyle, history, biochemical, and genetic factors and leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.

THE UNIQUE PROCESS
Prior to your First Visit:
We will have had a free discovery call. During the call we will discuss what you are looking for. We will determine if functional medicine can help you and if you are ready to make the changes that may be necessary. If this is for you, I will walk you through the next steps in scheduling an appointment and filling out the paperwork on the secure patient portal.
Your first 75-minute Visit:
You will have filled out several online forms for me that I will review prior to your appointment. During your appointment we will discuss your history and put together a timeline of your history. I will also do a non-invasive physical exam to identify nutritional deficiencies and to make sure we didn’t miss something important! We will identify the most important items that you need to start on and determine what testing may be needed before your second visit.
Your second 75-minute Visit:
Optional virtual visit
You will have completed the testing that was ordered at the first visit. We will review how you are doing with the initial changes recommended at the first visit. Then, we will review your labs and develop a comprehensive plan for what may be necessary for healing. This will guide us in determining the next steps for you and will help determine how much support you may need.
The first two 75-minute visits are $549, paid at the first visit
You are unique and each individual has different health goals and different needs for support in reaching those goals. Once there is an understanding of your baseline health and what needs to be done during your second visit, we will determine a path forward.
Some individuals will be good to go after the first two visits. However, most individuals will need help reaching their goals and the path isn’t as straight forward as they would like!
To help you reach your health goals, we will determine if you are needing additional visits, coaching, or group meetings to help increase your knowledge and to get the support of others facing a situation similar to yours.
Instead of paying for each service, we will customize a plan for you and set an affordable monthly price so that you can reach your goals.
It is all about guiding you on your healing journey!
Unfortunately, I do not accept insurance, however, I will provide you with an itemized bill from your visit that you may submit to insurance yourself. If your deductible is paid, in most cases your insurance will reimburse you for at least a portion of the visit but this cannot be guaranteed.
In your first visit, we will determine what labs are needed for your treatment. Because I will have you go to a lab to have blood drawn or will send you home with lab kits that you can collect at home and mail in, you will work directly with those lab companies to pay for the labs. Almost all of the companies that I work with will submit the expenses to your insurance or Medicare for payment. I will do my best to let you know the potential costs before I order any testing and work within your budget to try to keep costs to a minimum.
I work as a functional medicine consultant in conjunction with your current medical health care team. I am not considered a replacement for your primary care provider or your specialists. Your primary care provider will continue to provide urgent care and any annual exams that you need.
